A Coastal Fall Inn at Longshore Wedding

Before they ever envisioned a romantic Inn and Longshore wedding, Kate and Alex’s story began as high school friends. Though their post-graduation journeys led them in different directions, they never lost touch. Years later and after college, Alex asked Kate out. And from that moment on, their “forever” officially began.

For Kate and Alex, finding the perfect venue meant more than just beautiful views, it was about finding a place that felt like them. After visiting more than twenty options, they didn’t feel like they had found ‘the one’ until they stepped onto the grounds of the Inn at Longshore. Nestled along the Connecticut coastline and not far from where they grew up, the property exudes old-world charm with its grand ballroom, sweeping waterfront views, and timeless elegance. As the afternoon light reflected off the water and guests mingled on the terrace, the coastal setting offered a relaxed and timeless backdrop for their celebration. With a staff they described as amazing and a team they trusted completely, the couple could truly relax, knowing every detail was in expert hands. It set the stage for a celebration filled with warm fuzzies, laughter and love everywhere as they reminisce on their first anniversary.

Wedding details don’t always have to include family traditions. We love when couples incorporate their passions into the details of their wedding day and Kate and Alex did just that. Their shared love of golf came through with playful golf ball drink stirrers, while their sense of humor shined through with cocktail napkins featuring quotes from their favorite funny movies. Beyond these thoughtful details, what mattered most to them was creating a celebration that felt easy-going, surrounded by their closest family and friends

Kate dreamed of bold colors and abundant florals that would complement the changing of the season. She ultimately landed on a palette of deep pinks and purples balanced with soft, romantic tones—a stunning reflection of early fall. I had the honor of creating her seating chart on a beautiful mirror on site and painting live watercolor portraits of their guests, which became the most meaningful keepsakes of the day.

We knew we wanted something special for our guest favors—something entertaining that people would actually love. I’ve always adored watercolor paintings, and when I came across your page, I just knew this was it. You were so kind to work with and at such a reasonable price. We still see your portraits hanging in our friends’ and families’ homes, always reminding us of our special day.
