Warren Conference Center and Inn Wedding

Warren Conference Center and Inn Wedding

Today I would like to share a little bit from a beautiful and charming New England wedding. Laura and Will were married at the Warren Conference Center and Inn on a warm and breezy late summer day. Their ceremony was outdoors nestled within The Ashland Reservoir in a little cozy corner with bees buzzing about and the smell of flowers in the air. It was truly magical. They describe their wedding style as elevated rustic, a little whimsical, and relaxed “We wanted the day to feel like us as a couple. We wanted everyone to have fun, have good food and drinks, and just enjoy the day! We sprinkled in some special touches and favors but we didn't take ourselves too seriously.”

Laura and Will have been together for 6 and a half years. They met on Hinge and hit it off right away with their sense of humor. Will proposed while on their 5-year anniversary trip to Bar Harbor, Maine.

One of the most special moments of the day that stood out in their memory was their vows. Laura: We read our vows privately to each other during our first look. It was so special and such a great time to be together before the festivities began.”

They chose the Warren Conference Center and Inn because they loved the fact that it had beautiful fields, a rustic barn, a silo, and a gorgeous waterfront at the reservoir. They knew it would create so many opportunities for gorgeous pictures, and they were right! It was also important to them that there was an Inn and small cabins on site. They loved the fact that their guests filled up the Inn and they could all party into the night knowing everyone was staying a few steps away.

One of the most fun aspects of creating their invitations was the venue painting . I did a watercolor painting of the Warren Center and we used it as their envelope liner. As a little surprise, I mailed the painting to them with their special keepsake suite!

Their color palette was shades of French/dusty blues, green, cream, and pops of sunset orange. Their bridesmaids wore different shades of blue and found dresses that they felt most comfortable in from a bunch of different places! I incorporated their color palette by including two shades of blue in their envelopes, by painting some blue and white hydrangeas (it’s a New England summer after all!), and by adding a little bit of sunset orange and peach to their RSVP card.

Laura found her dress at VOWS in Watertown, MA. It was designed by Martina Liana. Will purchased his suit from Classic Tuxedo and Custom Clothing on Newbury Street in Boston.

When I was asking them some of these questions, I selfishly asked why they wanted to work with me, they said “Once we looked at your portfolio, we were blown away! We wanted to create a really special invitation suite and knew that you were the right person for the job! We loved the custom watercolors you created and definitely wanted that for our invites.” It was truly an honor working with Laura and Will and I absolutely love the invitation suite we created together.

Their venue had this sweet little stone wall and Laura asked if I could recreate it because stone walls have a special meaning to her and her father. I painted a watercolor of it and we added it to their Details card.

Now, I didn’t forget about you guys! I also asked them if they had any advice for couples planning their wedding: “Stay as organized as you can! Take advantage of budget planning templates, use Postable for retrieving mailing addresses from your friends and family, and either an online calendar or planner to note important dates and deadlines for your vendors. Don't forget to enjoy the process with your partner and take breaks from planning!”

I think they could not be more right. Planning your wedding is such a special time in your life, make it a fun experience!
